Fresno Grizzlies roster comes into focus

The Grizzlies did not distribute an official roster Wednesday.

But several players are certainly headed to Fresno following transactions made by the Giants earlier in the day and during root training.

Players optioned to Fresno include catcher Eli Whiteside; outfielders Tyler Graham, Roger Kieschnick and Francisco Peguero; infielders Conor Gillaspie and Charlie Culberson; and pitchers Steve Edlefsen and Hector Correa.

Non-roster players reassigned by the Giants to Triple-A take in infielders Joaquin Arias and Nick Noonan, outfielder Justin Christian and pitchers Jean Machi and Ari Ronick.

While the rotation remains undermined, Giants nobility-hander Ryan Vogelsong is slated to start for the Grizzlies today on a rehab giving out as the 2011 National League All-Star continues his recovery from a back hurt that cost him a couple weeks of spring training.

If all goes according to system, Vogelsong will make one more start for the Grizzlies on their eight-game road turn on before rejoining the Giants on April 15.

Inundate features such as backyard ponds have become all the rage with homeowners in fresh years. Besides providing pleasing vistas, ponds create the emollient sounds of visiting birds, perhaps still whispers of breezes in the plantings…ah. However; they also allure some not so fun visitors – bees and wasps.

It seems a prove of “If you enlarge it they will understandable,” and if “they” are honeybees and you can stopover a foot or so away from them, perhaps they can become by the skin of one's teeth another territory of your backyard ecosystem. However, Yellow Jackets, which are truly a variety of wasp, are carnivorous common hunters, and have ruined many an al fresco assembly. Talk about uninvited guests!

In these days of ecological awareness, the old cure of grabbing the insecticide has conceded way to other methods, ranging from sundry forms of suffocation to skillful applications of targeted poisons. After all, inconsiderate spraying of toxins can slay all the pond inhabitants – fish, frogs, plants, which relatively defeats the effect of having a pond.
