Need name of really sticky adhesive for rat traps. Ideas?

 We have seen rats in the yard. Pre-requisite for making our own trap w / cardboard and adhesives for slink under our deck, but can not find enough sticky tape. When using used indoor / outdoor carpet adhesive, but have no job.

 I would use a trap to stifle. Not the old fashioned way (do not like them either), there are new traps that do not reject your fingers need to be playing. This will give you the satisfaction of knowing their collar.
